Hello everyone, Lee here.

You'll now see that Footylist.info is being hosted by Blogger; what does this mean to you?

Well, in theory, nothing. It works, you can email to sign up and you can see updates.

For those who are really, really interested, you can leave comments for each post. Colin is able to enter posts and gets all the emails sent so it's really business as usual.

I've done this as I'll be moving house and cannot guarantee that my server will be up for all of the summer months.... that's pretty much the motivation!

Footylist Update

Sorry for the lack of updates recently, it's been a busy time all round!

The status of Footylist is that for now we won't start until July 2009.

This is due to lack of interest last year during the FC Hard season, the bulk of the Footylist community has signed up for the club and as a result we are not confident of being able to get the "game on" status as often as we would like and you would expect if we were to run games during the season.

Of course if someone thinks differently and is willing to take over the administration of the site in the meantime please get in touch!

Otherwise FC Hard are "recruiting" so if you want to train on Tuesdays/Thursdays and can play at weekends then let us know, especially if you are in the Senior (32-39) or Veteran (40+) age groups!

"We need a minimum of 8 players for each Sundays. If we have 8 players, then we can play 4-a-side football. The maximum can be 20 players as more than 20 will complicated the situation of playing football. If we have 20 maximum, then we can make up of 4 teams of 5 players and after each goal scored the losing team will have to wait for the next round (depending how mayn players turn up). The winning team stays on until they lose the game. Sometimes, if there are less than 8 players, then I do some training with the players and skill practice , e.g. penalty shooting exercise, dribbling excersise and so on.

If you want, you can put a signing list on www.footylist.info for 10 people to sign up max., who normally play during the Summer on the astro turf. But it will be great to have 8 - 20 players to turn up for every Sunday until March/April. Just to a reminder, every player has to bring 5Fr. to pay for the 2 hours. Even I have to pay 5Fr. for the 2 hours.

There will be a changing room with showers. It will be the upper sporthall at Fluntern Sporthalle. Once you turn up or the other players, then you can wait at the entrance or there will be a person watching at the entrance of the hall. Just tell the person that you are playing with the Armenian team and he will let you pass to the changing room.

Normally, I will be there between 2:30 PM and 3:PM to make sure how many players have joined to play. If in any case, we are more than 20 players, then I will try an alternative option and see how we can divide the all the players into 4 or 5 five teams."

About Footylist.info. Born from the multiple emails sent per week organising the games. With Footylist.info, we're trying to provide a central source of footy information in the Zurich area so that all participants, new and old, can see what's on and where.

The theory behind it all is what everyone can see how many places are left in the games and if the game is still on, should the weather be bad, for example. The footylist became Footylist.info.

Where are we playing right now?
The astroturf pitch near the Saalsporthalle on Tuesday and Thursday evenings as well as Thursday lunchtimes and other times.

Do you want to join us? That's fine - but you'll have to visit this page and Register Your Interest. We will not add unregistered players to the schedule.

Park your car at the Saalsporthalle if you're lucky. There's also a Park & Ride under the motorway.
Two wheels? Park right at the green dot.
Work at CS? Lucky dog.
Public transport? S4 train to Brunau or 13 tram to Saalsporthalle.

Game Rules

Rules: All other rules as per FIFA rules, including but not limited to:

Offside: Called by nearest Footylist Official
Foul: Claimed by victim, must be seconded by nearest Footylist Official
Throw-ins: Goalkeeper cannot pick up the ball from a throw-in
Goal-kicks: Within 6-six yard area and kicked from the ground
Kick-off: You can score directly from kick-off without another person touching the ball. Given our skill levels, it's unlikely but it'll keep the goalie on his toes.

Additionally, all stoppages must be called by a Footylist Official (Justin, Colin, Lee, Francis)

The Rules

In a perfect world we wouldn't need rules. Unfortunately it's not a perfect world so here's how Footylist works for the benefit of everyone.

Getting a place in a game

Footylist must know about you before you try reserve a place in a game - supply is finite and we do reserve the right to close Footylist to new members. Don't let this stop you from using the "Register your Interest" link on the right.
Evening games run from 18:30 to 20:00. If you can't play for that period of time don't sign up. If you leave early, you'll be treated as a no-show (see below).
Each Friday morning you can use the the web site to sign up for next weeks games.
Don't try and block book all games in the future. All bookings are deleted Thursday night so it will be a waste of time.
Spaces are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis - up to 11 a side. Signups are automatically filed in the order they arrive and that's the order in which the slots are allocated.
If more than 22 players sign up, the extras players are reserves. If anyone cancels you'll be contacted before the game to see if you can play.
If you haven't got a spot in a game, then it should be fairly obvious that there's not much point turning up - we don't play 15 a side!
The Astroturf pitch is reserved for our use if the main teams at Saalsporthalle are not using it. There are more than enough players wanting a game on a regular basis, please don't invite large groups of players to our matches.
If you break anything, e.g. car windows, you're personally liable for the cost of getting it fixed and sorted out. If you don't agree to this....don't play.

No Shows (IMPORTANT)
If you've reserved a place in a game and you can't make it then cancel your spot. Simply click on the CANCEL! link and send us a short message.

If you can't make a game, please let us know before 5pm. This gives us time to contact the reserves to fill your space.

This is the important part.....If you sign up for a game and you don't show, you'll be the last reserve in the next game. So if there are 22 people who sign up for the next game you won't get a game! In short don't do it, it's annoying for everyone involved.

Cancelled Game
Games rarely get cancelled, even if the weather is really bad! If we're going to cancel a game, a headline will be added to the front page of the site. Just check the website before you leave for the game.

If you don't turn up because of a bit of rain, then you'll be treated as a no-show.

How can I guarantee myself a place in the game ?
Easy - Wash the footy bibs for the next match and you'll have a guaranteed spot (we're serious)
